Unfair dismissal maximum award and statutory redundancy pay increases from 6 April 2014

Increases in statutory redundancy pay and the basic award of compensation for unfair dismissal take effect from 6 April 2014.


As of 6 April 2014, the limit on a week's pay for statutory redundancy has increased from £450 to £464 per week.

The same weekly cap increase is also applicable to the basic award for unfair dismissal at employment tribunal, with the maximum basic award increasing from £13,500 to £13,920.

The increase comes into effect following legislation amending the Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2014.
