Minimum wage to rise to 6.08 in October 2011

The government has agreed to increase the National Minimum Wage by 2.5% to 6.08 for workers aged 21 and over.

The increase, anticipated for October 2011, will include:

  • 4.98 minimum wage for 18-20 year olds (an increase of 8p)
  • 3.68 minimum wage for 16-17 year olds (an increase of 4p)
