Living Wage increase announced from 4 November 2013

Effective 4 November 2013, the Living Wage increases for London and the UK. The Living Wage is set annually and followed on a voluntary basis by employers.

Although it is not legally binding, some funders and commissioners consider the Living Wage favourably as part of bids and tenders.

The London Living Wage is set by the Greater London Authority while the UK Living Wage is set by the Centre for Research in Social Policy at Loughborough University.

The UK Living Wage increases from 7.45 to 7.65 per hour effective 4 November 2013. The London Living Wage increases from 8.55 to 8.80 per hour.

Living Wage employers, who have been accredited by the Living Wage Foundation have 6 months from 4 November 2013, to implement the Living Wage increase in order to remain compliant with their accreditation.
