Increase to National Minimum Wage from October 2012

The government plans to raise the minimum wage by 11p for over-21s.

The new National Minimum Wage from 1 October 2012, will:

- increase from 6.08 to 6.19 per hour for workers 21 and over
- maintain at 4.98 per hour for 18-20 year olds
- maintain at 3.68 per hour for under 18s
- increase from 2.60 to 2.65 for apprentices.
