Equality Act codes of practice become law from April

The statutory codes of practice aim to give employers and law-makers an understanding of how the Equality Act 2010 applies in practice.

These codes take effect from 6 April 2011 and will be followed by tribunals and courts when they are deciding on issues coming before them. Any employers wanting to understand the Equality Act's application will also benefit from referring to them.
