Bribery Act guidance finally released

The Ministry of Justice has published guidance on the sorts of procedures which an organisation can put in place to prevent bribery at work.

The Bribery Act 2010 creates a criminal offence for organisations with staff that give or receive bribes. However organisations will have a statutory defence where they put in place reasonable safeguards to prevent staff bribery.

The Act is expected to come into force on 1 July 2011.
